Easter
Happy Easter! ¡Felíz Pascua! Joyeuses Pâques ! С Пасхой!
Easter is celebrated in several countries around the world. It arises from the Christian religion honoring the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which can be interpreted as a sign that love has no boundaries, and that it is the most powerful and magical force. As well, Easter is celebrated as a time of rebirth and renewal (that's why bunnies, chicks, eggs, and flowers are protagonists of this celebration). Multilingual Easter Activities:
- Egg hunt match! Use plastic eggs to hide Easter words written in several languages that are familiar to your child, then hide the eggs and do a multilingual scavenger hunt. Let your child match the words, and if necessary, add as well a full set of images illustrating those words as a scaffold hint!
- Listen to the Easter story in several languages. As simple as surfing youtube and playing the Easter story for your child in multiple languages. Then, have a conversation with your child comparing and contrasting these stories. Let them express their ideas using all the resources inside their repertoires (languages, songs, drawings, body movements, etc).
- Spy the color. Easter brings the opportunity to surround your family with colorful eggs, flowers, and decorations, why don't you take advantage of this situation and play a spy game to review the colors in multiple languages?
