International Mother Language Day

Since the year 2000, Unesco International Mother Language Day has been celebrated all over the world on 21st February to promote linguistic diversity and multilingualism.

This day brings us the opportunity to reflect on the languages that we use in our lives and the importance of preserving linguistic diversity in our world. Our mother language, mother tongue, home language, or first language will always have a special place in our hearts as it serves as the key that opens the door to connect with our cultural background.

Even though this celebration only lasts for one day, I invite you to continue promoting the use of the mother language at school every day!
Here I share with you some websites that include great resources to continue encouraging children to use their mother language in the classrooms to freely express themselves and maybe as a group create multicultural products today and every day.
